Spring Maintenance Checklist for Commercial HVAC Systems

Your heating and cooling system plays an essential role in keeping the building safe and comfortable for its occupants, which is why it’s important to hire a skilled contractor to service your HVAC system. At Econoair Heating & Cooling Inc, we maintain and install ductless systems.

Here’s a spring maintenance checklist for commercial HVAC systems.

Replace Air Filters

Air filters can attract different types of airborne contaminants, such as dirt, dust, mold, pollen and other microscopic particles. The indoor air quality of your home will suffer if you don’t regularly clean or replace your filters. Your HVAC contractors should also check on them during maintenance appointments to see if they need to be replaced.

Clean Indoor Components

Indoor components, such as blower fans, evaporator coils and control panels should be kept clean. Moving parts like fans need to be lubricated to keep them moving smoothly.

Check the Refrigerant

Cooling systems have to have the correct amount of refrigerant to capture and release heat properly. Your HVAC contractor should make sure that you have the right amount in your system. If you think there’s a refrigerant leak, immediately call a professional. You can rely on Econoair Heating & Cooling Inc. for your heating and cooling system repair needs. We also install boiler systems, air cleaners and thermostats.

Clean Outdoor Units

You should make sure that the outdoor cabinet that contains the condenser unit and other essential components remains clean. Debris can block the vents and limit airflow, so remove any grass, leaves, sticks, mulch or other materials surrounding the coil and vents.

Clear Drain Lines

Check your condensate drains and make sure that they’re free from obstructions. You may also need to apply an algaecide for the prevention of algae growth .

If you’re looking for contractors who install air conditioner and furnace systems from leading manufacturers, you can count on Econoair Heating & Cooling Inc. Call us at 905-763-2400 or complete our contact form to request a quote.
