Your 2020 Fall HVAC To-Do List

Fall in Canada is pretty much a prelude to the typical Canadian winter, so it’s always a good idea to get any AC repair, heater maintenance or furnace replacement you have planned out of the way at this time to prepare for the colder days ahead. You may not look forward to any of these essential HVAC-related chores, but it’s certainly better than facing the winter with a faulty heating system.

Our experts at Econoair Heating & Cooling Inc. recommend adding the following things to your fall HVAC to-do list to ensure the comfort and warmth of your family for the rest of the season.

Seasonal Inspections & Maintenance

Call your local HVAC company for a regular tune-up and inspection of your system. Make sure that these visits include assessing the overall health of your heat exchanger, ensuring good flue pipe and draft diverter functions and checking the blower and inducer motors, as well as other components that can affect the performance of your system.

Humidity Levels

Excessive relative humidity can mean that you’re due for a furnace repair soon. For some, high humidity levels are okay, as they can make your home toastier on cold days. But this could also indicate a bigger problem with your air conditioner or heater. If you’re able, consider replacing your system with a variable-speed model to help keep humidity at comfortable levels.

Tax Credits & Rebates

You can also use this time to check on local government credits and cashback for using energy-efficient heating. Some areas offer big discounts or savings when you switch to environmentally-friendly equipment, and it’s a good idea to see if you qualify for any of these programs.

Upgrades

If you have any AC or furnace installation projects lined up, make sure to finish them before fall is over. Contact your local HVAC company and find the right HVAC system for your needs.

At Econoair Heating & Cooling Inc., we can help you get your heating and air conditioning system ready for winter. Give us a call at 905-763-2400 or fill out our contact form to schedule a maintenance visit or request a free estimate on new HVAC installations today.
